Open the wallpaper of the day, choose your device under No KOReader? Use a link and copy the address. It always returns today’s wallpaper, rendered at exactly your resolution in grayscale, so anything that can download an image on a schedule can keep your screen fresh.

    Pick your device, or enter a custom width and height. Choose PNG or JPG, and color only if your screen supports it.

    Copy the link. It looks like https://api.inkmorning.com/api/v1/daily/image?preset=… and never changes; what it returns changes every day.

Use it

Download it the same way you would any image. With curl, for example:

curl -fsSL -o wallpaper.png "YOUR_LINK"

To refresh it every morning on a device or computer with cron, run that command a few minutes after midnight UTC, then copy the file to wherever your reader looks for its sleep screen or screensaver. Where that is depends on the device; our device guides cover Kobo, reMarkable, BOOX and KOReader.

Keep requests reasonable: once a day is all the link needs. The image is cached for a few minutes and repeated requests are rate limited.

Link or plugin?

The link gives everyone the same daily pick, dated in UTC. The KOReader plugin does more: it follows your own midnight, can pin a wallpaper or rotate through your library or favorites, and sets the sleep screen for you. If your device runs KOReader, the plugin is the easier path.

No. The daily wallpaper is free for everyone, and the link works without signing in.

When does the image change?

At midnight UTC, when a new wallpaper of the day is picked. Fetch it any time after that.

Can the link show my own library or favorites?

Not yet: the link only serves the daily pick. Rotating through your library or favorites needs the KOReader plugin.
