Terms of Service

1. Who we are

InkMorning (“we”, “us”) makes wallpapers and sleep screens for e-ink devices: static artwork, and “live” templates such as calendars and a quote of the day that are rendered again each day at your device’s exact screen size. You can download images from the website or use our KOReader plugin to update your sleep screen automatically.

By creating an account, making a purchase or using the website or plugin, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

2. Your account

• You need an account to buy wallpapers, subscribe or pair a device. Free wallpapers and the daily wallpaper can be downloaded without one.
• Give us a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
• One account is for one person. Please don’t share accounts or resell access.
• If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password and tell us.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or use the service with a parent or guardian’s permission.

3. Wallpaper license

When you buy a wallpaper or pack, or get one for free, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• download it and display it on e-readers, tablets, phones and computers that you own or personally use;
• keep the files you downloaded, even if you later close your account (see Termination).

You may not:

• resell, share, sublicense or redistribute the files, alone or as part of another collection or product;
• upload them to wallpaper sites, file-sharing services or public repositories;
• use them in merchandise, print-on-demand products or for other commercial purposes;
• remove credits or present our compositions and templates as your own.

Sharing a photo or screenshot of your own device showing a wallpaper is fine, and we appreciate it.

4. Public-domain artwork and our work

Many wallpapers use public-domain source images from institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and NASA. We credit the source on each wallpaper. Those source images remain in the public domain: our license doesn’t restrict what you can do with the original images, which you can get directly from the institution.

What you’re licensing from us is our own work: the crops, compositions, typography, layouts, e-ink tuning, calendar and quote templates, and the rendered files. That work belongs to InkMorning and is covered by the license above.

If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, contact us at hello@example.com and we’ll look into it promptly.

5. Purchases and prices

• Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller on your receipt and handles payment, sales tax/VAT and invoices. Their own terms also apply to the checkout.
• Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout. Taxes may be added depending on where you live.
• Purchases are digital and are available in your library right after payment is confirmed.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

6. Pro subscriptions

• Pro is billed monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose, and renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from the customer portal (linked from your account page). Cancelling stops future renewals.
• After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. We don’t give partial refunds for unused time.
• When Pro ends, wallpapers you had through Pro are no longer available for new downloads or daily updates. Wallpapers and packs you bought individually stay in your library.
• If we change the price of Pro, we’ll tell you by email before it affects your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
• If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy may retry it for a short time; if it can’t be collected, Pro will end.

7. Founders lifetime

Founders is a one-time purchase that gives you Pro features for the lifetime of the service— that is, for as long as InkMorning is operated, not for your lifetime or any fixed number of years. It is tied to your account and can’t be transferred. If we ever shut the service down, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice by email and a way to download the wallpapers you have access to.

8. Devices and the plugin

• The KOReader plugin pairs with your account using a short code. A paired device receives a token that lets it fetch images for your account; you can remove a device at any time from the Devices page.
• KOReader is an independent open-source project. InkMorning isn’t affiliated with KOReader, Amazon, Rakuten Kobo, reMarkable, Onyx BOOX or PocketBook. Installing third-party software on a device is your decision and may affect its warranty; follow the official instructions for your device and for KOReader.
• Guides on this site are general help, not official instructions from device makers, and device software changes often.

9. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• scrape, bulk-download or mirror the catalog, or try to get paid wallpapers without paying;
• share device tokens or pairing codes, or use the API in ways that put unreasonable load on it (we rate-limit requests);
• probe, disrupt or try to gain unauthorized access to the service or other people’s accounts;
• use the service for anything unlawful.

10. Service availability

InkMorning is run by a small independent team. We work to keep the site, downloads and daily updates running, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove wallpapers, templates and features over time. If a daily update is missed, your device keeps showing the last image it received.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give warranties that it will be error-free or suit every device.

To the extent the law allows, InkMorning is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost data or damage from modifying a device), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded.

12. Termination

• You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy). Cancel any subscription first so it doesn’t renew.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, for example through redistribution, fraud or abuse. Where reasonable, we’ll warn you first.
• Files you already downloaded under a valid license may still be used on your own devices after your account closes.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in the country where you live. We’d always prefer to sort out a problem directly — please contact us first.
