The Kindle Scribe screen is 1860 × 2480 pixels in portrait orientation (width × height). A sleep screen image at exactly that size is shown pixel for pixel, with no stretching, blurry scaling or black bars.
Tips for e-ink: use grayscale PNG, keep strong contrast, and avoid fine gradients, which can show visible banding on 16-level gray screens. Every InkMorning download is already rendered this way for the kindle-scribe preset.

What Kindle's own software can do
Kindle’s standard software doesn’t let you choose your own sleep screen image. On Kindles bought without lock screen ads (or with ads removed), many models have a Settings → Device Options → Display Cover option that shows the cover of the book you’re reading instead. The option is hidden on ad-supported devices, and menu names can vary by model and software version.
